SUMMARY:Webinar: Healthy Soils for Europe: Research\, Policy and Lab Innovations for Sustainable Land Management
DESCRIPTION:TRAILS4SOIL’s project coordinator\, Emilio J. González-Sánchez\, will discuss our research project at: \n7th RefreSCAR “Spotlight On…” Webinar Series:\n“Healthy Soils for Europe: Research\, Policy and Living Lab Innovations for Sustainable Land Management” \nSoil degradation\, biodiversity loss\, and climate pressures increasingly require coordinated action at regional and international levels.  This webinar will explore how research\, policy and innovative land management practices can contribute to healthier soils and more resilient ecosystems across Europe. \nJoin us:\n📅 Friday\, 29 May 2026\n🕐 12.00 – 13.30 CET\n🔗 Register HERE. \nThe event is hosted by RefreSCAR\, an EU-funded Horizon Europe project providing targeted support to the Working Groups (WGs) of the Standing Committee on Agricultural Research (SCAR).

SUMMARY:Soils for Europe
DESCRIPTION:TRAILS4SOIL is co-organising the Soils for Europe conference\, together with multiple Mission Soil projects. The event will highlight panels on the Mission Objectives\, including cross-cutting sessions aiming to showcase the latest research being developed across Europe. \nWhile the event will allow for the showcasing of innovations being produced by various European-funded projects\, the conference will be open to all researchers and practitioners in an effort to bring together the best and most innovative initiatives in the European space\, including a day dedicated to the Living Labs initiatives . \nCONFERENCE THEMES \n\nReduce land degradation and desertification – advancing strategies to halt soil erosion\, compaction\, and sealing.\nPreserve and increase soil organic carbon stocks – highlighting soil’s role in climate mitigation and sustainable farming.\nStop soil sealing – supporting sustainable urban planning\nIncrease reuse of urban soils – supporting land recycling.\nReduce soil pollution and enhance restoration – addressing contaminants\, waste\, and strategies for remediation.\nPrevent erosion and improve soil structure – showcasing innovations for sustainable land management.\nImprove soil literacy and citizen engagement – promoting awareness\, education\, and citizen science initiatives.\nReduce the EU global footprint on soils – addressing the global impacts of EU consumption on soils.\nBoost monitoring and harmonised soil data – moving towards comprehensive\, accessible European soil information systems.\nNew technologies and innovations to enhance soil health – showcasing new advances in technological development in fields like remote sensing\, low impact agriculture\, automatization of monitoring procedures\, etc.\nEnhance soil biodiversity – recognising soils as living systems and ensuring their protection.\nQuantifying sustainability and impacts of solutions for soil management and health
